Top class
The top class is held one year after grades 7 or 8 in primary school. Students who are brighter than their grades indicate may be able to attend the top class in grade 8. For some students, it's beneficial to attend the top class after grade 8. These students can also be registered. Each top class consists of a maximum of 15 students. Every child receives plenty of attention from the teacher. The Johan de Witt Scholengroep has a top class for pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO-TL) and senior general secondary education (HAVO).
Lessons and projects
In the top class, we primarily focus on speaking, reading, and writing Dutch. We do this, among other things, through projects. We go on field trips, learn lots of vocabulary related to the project, and learn how to apply it. We also ensure that students maintain their math skills. Students take physical education and art with specialist teachers from the Johan de Witt Scholengroep.
