Co-determination

Students often have good ideas about school activities, such as organizing a party or an idea to make school more fun for everyone. Students can turn to the student council for these ideas. This group of students meets regularly under the guidance of a vice-principal to discuss and develop ideas. This way, they learn to work together and express their opinions. The council represents the interests of all students. Student council members are elected. Elections are held annually at the beginning of the school year.

The participation council consists of several members who collectively represent the staff, students, and parents of the Johan de Witt School Group. The MR regularly consults with the management on various issues affecting the school. The MR can advise the management and, in some cases, even approve certain matters. Staff, students, and parents each elect their own representatives for the MR. They can vote in an election.

The Parent Council of the Johan de Witt School Group is a group of enthusiastic and committed parents who work for other parents, the students, and the school in various ways. In concrete terms, this means that the Parent Council:

• Meets five times a year; among other things, education policy is discussed
• A spokesperson for all parents, we strive to ensure that all locations are represented
• Acts as a sounding board for the school management
• Maintains contact with the Works Council (MR)
• Organizes theme evenings
• Actively participates during information evenings and open days
