leave / sick

Reporting Illness
We expect students to be present every school day. If a student is ill, we ask parents to report this before 08:00 via Somtoday. You can find instructions on how to log in to Somtoday here

If the illness lasts longer than one day, this must be reported again daily.

leave/time off:
Sometimes it's necessary to request leave, for example, for family events or religious holidays. You can do this using this form. The school will assess your request in accordance with the Compulsory Education Act. We are happy to help you find solutions, but we can only grant leave if the law permits.

Attendance & Absenteeism Policy
The Attendance & Absenteeism policy precisely describes how the Johan de Witt Scholengroep handles absence, leave, and illness. You can find this under Downloads. Here you can read, among other things, in which situations special leave can be requested and what the consequences are of unauthorized absence.

parental contribution

Parent/Guardian Contribution:
The Johan de Witt School Group does not charge a parental contribution. We do ask parents/guardians to contribute to some activities. In addition, students must purchase the required gym clothes, and sometimes special clothing is required for vocational programs.

Leergeld Foundation & Schoolspullenpas
The Leergeld Foundation The Hague is a foundation that supports children aged 4 to 17 from low-income families. They do this by providing items such as bicycles, sportswear, and musical instruments, so that everyone can participate in school or a club. Parents/guardians of children with an Ooievaarspas can apply for a Schoolspullenpas . This can be used to purchase school supplies.
