Arts campus

At the Johan de Witt School Group, everyone has the opportunity to discover her or his artistic talents. For this purpose there is the Johan de Witt Art Campus on Glasblazerslaan.

On the Arts Campus, all lower school students are introduced to dance, theater, visual arts, language and music. As in recent years, the lessons are provided by cultural institutions from The Hague. Our regular partners: National Theater, Korzo, Kunstmuseum The Hague, the Residentie Orchestra, Popschool The Hague and Art-S-Cool.  

Under the guidance of the research group of the Art Education professorship of the Amsterdam University of the Arts ( ahk.nl ), the cultural institutions have jointly developed a new program.  In this program, art education is linked to citizenship themes.

In the third and fourth year you will take lessons at the art institutions themselves. So that you learn in the professional environment of cultural institutions. Will your painting soon hang in the Art Museum, will your film be shown in Filmhuis Den Haag or will you soon be on the stage of the National Theater?

Would you prefer to be involved with art every day? Then you can choose art electives in the upper grades. At VMBO, for example, for photography or painting/illustration. Students from the Mavo/Havo/Vwo departments can take their final exams in the subjects of music, drama or visual arts.
